Head West and put on Silver Ostrich first break into ready-to-wear. What better to begin than a work jacket, a versatile piece, as much at ease in today’s city centers than in faraway grasslands ?
Looking simple requires precision, hence the shape of the jacket has been studied with great care using the Sartori brothers tailoring skills. Together, we developed our own sewing pattern for this jacket, focused on a chic comfort. Its 3 pockets and overshirt collar allows it to be worn in many ways, under any latitude.
Feel the fabric to understand the modern touch of this timeless garment : a brown alcantara has been chosen. This technical cloth resembles suede in texture, only more durable and resistant. It’s also used to build high-end cars and even in some spaceships.
Using the Sartori Brothers’ expert’s connections, the jacket is crafted by hand in an Italian workshop which has already proved its tailoring skills. Paying a final tribute to cattles and wilds, horn buttons are selected to close this first dive into ready-to-wear.
This approach of upgrading a sturdy workwear classic into a more urban and refined garment can be seen as a wink to the paninaro subculture of the 80’s. Milanese teenagers would adopt and interpret elements of American lifestyle, sandwiches of course, but also Timberland workboots, lumberjacket, buffalo plaid shirts or jean jackets.
Like them, pair it with casual classics, or use it as an overshirt to countrified grey flannels and business shirts. Even better, coordinate its texture and color with Silver Ostrich brown suede belts.
Feel welcome to ask any question regarding the jacket, its sizing, style or manufacturing. It’s available on express shipping anywhere on the globe.
